After studying Fine Art for a number of years, Emily went onto specialise in Textile Design. The combination of both of these genres is clear in the work she is producing today - a mix of Fine Art paint techniques, textures and colours with the refined imagery and layout found in Textile Design. These styles work in harmony to create works which suit any environment. Emily draws inspiration from her travels with many works featuring tropical plants and foliage with paint techniques and styles from Asia & the South Pacific Islands. Colour and light play an important role in creating the mood of the pieces, which embrace the heavy heat of the tropics and the way sunlight cuts through rainforest canopies. Emily paints to portray memories, with the aim bring the mood of the tropics onto canvas so when you look at the painting you go on holiday.
