I have always loved painting, but my first love was always horses. Racehorses. I was lucky enough to spend my youth, or mis-spend, as the case may be, working with and riding those wonderful creatures. I even found time to sketch and paint them, usually in oils. It wasn't until later in life that I 'discovered' pastels, and it has changed my whole approach. I have since moved on, and now paint other animals........even the human kind. I love painting portraits. My aim is to capture the 'spirit' of each individual one, but I still love the thrill of competition, and when painting sporting action, any sporting action, I try to portray that 'rush'. My time tends to be split between the racecourse and the small studio situated at the bottom of my very small garden. I believe paintings are painted to be looked at, and lived with. I hope you enjoy mine. A sample of my work is featured in the Shadwell Stud Stallion book, 2008. Commissions undertaken.
