My original aspiration was to be an illustrator. During the initial stages of my degree course it became apparent, while not bereft of skill in the discipline, I did not possess the 'extraordinary' talent to do that. However at that point I had already become seriously interested in photography, which was an integral part of the course. My previous experience of the medium had been enjoyable but extremely limited therefore I had not realised the creative potential it offered me. Photography was a revelation to me. I was encouraged along that route by lecturers, visiting professionals and a sage technician all of whom I will remember with fondness and gratitude for their generous natures and really 'big' brains!

My professional work encompassed social and portrait photography and involved world wide travel for a period approaching twenty years. I had many wonderful experiences during that time and remain privileged to have had them but ultimately I found myself creatively suffocated. New different opportunities presented themselves to me and sufficiently intrigued I progressed into areas not directly involved with photography where I remained since. These have included, but are not limited to, auctioneering, art gallery sales and management.

More recently I felt an irresistible urge to re-engage with photography. This site is part of the process I have embarked on to achieve that. The majority of the work shown here is personal work taken between my professional commitments during the extended period I spent abroad from England. To date very few people have seen this work, it has never been exhibited or published.
