About Me

My art is closely associated with informalism and abstractionism art: Matter Painting, even in some cases there is a figurative and symbolic repertoire, based on the human figure. My artistic work say more to the tact of that to the look, it translates and underlines the attachment to the senses. Im interested in the shapes and textures of poor matter, creating dimensions of painting allied to sculpture, through visual elements and also sensorial and tactile spaces. My “paintings” are extracted from these natural objects and organic materials in my efforts to find and transmit signals that identify the Men.

Sofia Cravo, born on March 18, 1983, in Lisbon, Portugal. Currently living and working between Leiria and Lisbon. Graduated in Fine Art, with a Bacherol Honours Degree in Painting at Faculty of Fine Art, University of Lisbon, Portugal (2007). Holds a Masters MA Fine Art at Birmingham City University, England (2009). Studied Jewellery at Ar.Co Institute of Art and Visual Comunication in 2010. Currently studying a Masters at University of Aveiro and Jewellery (CINDOR Jewellery School). -Frequently participates in National and International exhibitions. -Work represented in several National and International Collections.
