About Art By LAW I am a British artist known for my wide diversity of surreal and abstract paintings, My work is unusual and adventurous. I experiment with a variety of techniques. Combining clay on canvas with acrylics, burning paintings, slashing canvas and water submersion to achieve amazing affects are just a few of my ventures. A painting to me is a burst of energy and must have flow and passion. Every piece tells a story or has a meaning, even if the end result seems completely abstract. Some of my work has a child - like humour to it, using naive shapes and figures to depict a scene. I often add novelty (googly) plastic eyes to paintings or Rhine stone crystals. I find inspiration for my art from a variety of places. Some of my paintings reflect stories from the bible and old legends, and others are descriptions of daily life. my abstracts are often expressions of the mind or experiments of art its self pushing the boundaries of the discipline. Some of my paintings could be seen as breaking the fundamental rules of painting - bringing fresh ideas and concepts into the twenty - first century.

I have always had an eye for the visual arts, as a child I found reading and writing very difficult because I am dyslexic so I was forever using my creative ability, making and creating things out of what ever I could find, my passion has never faded. I stayed on at school and did a GNVQ in art and design. After that I went to Langley College for two years and studied Visual Communication Design, where I learnt many techniques in drawing, painting, printing, sculpture and photography. On completion of the course I went to Salisbury College of Art and Design and did a Degree with honours in Photography.

I think your art work and photography skills are amazing, your designs are so unusual and striking. I was especially pleased with the photos you done of me and my friends. Would like to wish you all the very best for the future.

Having visited your exhibition in Marlow earlier this year, I am now a big fan! I am thrilled with the purchases made that day and since then. I am especially pleased with the commission you recently did for me. I will look forward to seeing more of your work at your forthcoming Ruilsip exhibition.

We really enjoyed the "photo party" that you did for us Louisa. It was great fun and the pictures have come out very well. I will recommend the idea to all my friends!
