My work is about creating arbitrary compositional arrangements of simple shapes and colour sequences that engage the visual senses without any external reference, being complete within themselves. I work mainly on papers using a wide range of waterbased mediums as well as oil, spray, and metallic paints with larger works are on canvas using similar processes. I studied at Reigate School of Art 1965-8 and at Wimbledon College of Art 2001-4, gaining an MA -Fine Art-Painting. I am a member of the Royal Watercolour Society, Free Painters & Sculptors, and Reigate Society of Artists. I have won a number of awards including a Rome Study Bursary ( British School at Rome) and the RWS Award 2005. I have work in the Royal Water Colour Society Diploma Collection as well as in a number of private collections in the UK and USA, as well as works and artist entries included in a number of publications. I live with my wife and family in NE Surrey, have a house and studio in N France, and an apartment in N Thailand where I also work.
