Born in Florence in 1961. My father was an artist and a teacher and he introduced me since an early age to the vocabulary of personal abstraction. I moved to London in 1995 and since then my visual expression has considerably developed also to compensate the verbal limitation when engaging in a foreign language. In my work the aim is to find visual equivalents for personal, intangible things like experiences, thoughts, feelings and emotions. It is also true that for me the purpose of abstraction is to get to basics: strip away outward appearance and familiar landmarks, in order to be left with the essence of the subject.
