Spain is a country of smiles, music and sunshine, that wraps around you like a fresh breeze. Surging waves, colors and forms which may exist only as an illusion of reality, much as the willfully expressive abstract paintings of Susie Gadea, who lives there since 2005.
An example of global citizenship, this Peruvian-born painter (1953), received her art training in Australia and lived many years in the Dominican Republic, experiences which undoubtedly shaped her perspective. After two decades working successfully as an independent design consultant, she turned her focus to artistic self-expression, her life-long passion.
Integrating reflection and intuitive spontaneity, her paintings seems to transmit a relaxed, joyful vitality and that can barely be described with words. They reflect her insights, but above all her heart-felt pursuits: the freedom to simply be oneself beyond social conventions and the expectations of others; the acceptance and appreciation of who we really are. “I seek to inspire others to reclaim their personal power and to share my vision of self-assured individuals, sparks of the divine, changing reality in a positive way” she tells us.
