Irish Artist of the Month June 2010: Peter Steedman

Peter's work encompasses many themes ranging from landscape to stained glass, plant portraits and old buildings. His latest exhibition is accompanied by a beautifully produced and lavishly illustrated book entitled ‘Photographs of Ireland’, full of uniquely original and striking images.

With deep Limerick roots, Peter has lived and worked in London all his life and became fascinated with photography as a creative medium at a very early age. His first publicly exhibited collection was shown in London’s Lauderdale House in 2006 to very enthusiastic reviews from press and public, with a first exhibition in Limerick at the Hunt Museum in 2008.

His Limited Edition prints are currently available from a variety of venues around the country, and can be purchased direct from his website www.pmsphotography.com. Peter says of his work:
I photograph things that catch my attention so my work is an eclectic mix; I love colour, textures and the way light can create drama in an image
