Abdul Salim
A Versatile Painter
From his childhood Abdul Salim was influenced by the artistic environs in Delhi (India) where he was born on April 14, 1934 and completed his early education from Punjabi Muslim High School in Delhi.
In 1947 he migrated to Pakistan and settled in Lahore.
Joined Mayo School of Arts (Now National College of Arts) Lahore and trained under strict tutelage and guidance of Prof. Sheikh Ahmed. Received a Scholarship for being a student of exceptional talent.Graduated from the Mayo School of Arts (Now NCA) Lahore. Awarded Medals and several Certificates of Merit.
Came to Karachi with his mentor Prof. Sheikh Ahmed to work on 350 historical illustrations for the Textbooks of Pakistani Schools published by Silver Burddete Company, New York.
