This painting is in mixed media (acrylic ink, watercolour and pastel). It was painted from a watercolour sketch (July 2008) when I visited the confluence of the two rivers Creuse and Petite Creuse. This is a famous spot - Claude Monet painted here in 1889. He stayed at Fresselines for 3 months painting along the banks of the rivers. It's a wonderful place, quite magical, which is what I wanted to capture in the final painting. |
