Kestutis Sveikauskas - lithuanian artist. He comes from the unique region -Zemaitija (Samogitia). This is the old land of Baltic with plenty of hill forts (piliakalnis). Most forts were located on the beutiful banks of rivers (V-XV centuries). In his works, light and pliable, as carried out by an excellent master hand, vibrating old history of Zemaitija. His vast legacy of great art - more than 500 watercolors, lots of artistic posters, around 50 brands, created in the Soviet years, but a part of them is used now.

He liked to carve sculptures in rural style, to play guitar and liked to sing songs. Already two years as the Artist passed away. He lived during the complicated historical period: IInd World War and Stalinist postwar years. As a teenager he became a witness of his parents have been shot. This image pursued him all his lifetime. He was challenged to live without money, documents and was searched as an important witness. So, the one way was to become a soldier in the Soviet Army, where young Kestutis was send to a distant land behind Ural mountains. He spent 4 years in the Soviet Army forces. After returning from the Army he entered the Technical School of Applied Arts in Kaunas, Lithuania. 1962 he entered The Academy of Arts in Vilnius, Lithuania. Fields of his studies: design, graphics, painting. His artworks were exhibited in Moscow, Paris, Beograd. His last personal exhibition took place in Vilnius 2 years ago.
